June 2020- This is how the Schettler family likes to quarantine!

June 14-20, 2020

We wanted to invite the full Schettler family to Lake Powell on the Fantasy Voyager so we divided the family into two groups. The Steve Sperry family and the Jeff Proctor family came Sunday-Wednesday. The families of Steve Schettler, Scott Schettler and Sarah Despain came Wednesday-Saturday. We were able to manage 30 people in each group with 3 boats. We anchored the houseboat on the west side of Bullfrog Bay. The water elevation was 3610.98 and water temp was 71 degrees.

The family members who came the first half of the week: Rich, Becky, Mary, Nate with his friend Brooklyn Read; Steve, Carol, Jason, Jeff, Alisha, Trevor, Luke, Annika Sperry and Rory, Jen, Ryker, Krue, and Rees Bowen; Jeff, Sue, Ashley, Brookes, Benson, Andy and Sarah Proctor, Patrick, Lindsay, Jack and Peter Davis. We used 3 boats, our brand new Super Air Nautique GS24, Proctor’s Mastercraft X30, Sperry’s Bryant.

We arrived Sunday afternoon and due to COVID 19, we were able to hold a family Sacrament on the houseboat when everyone arrived. Rich and a few others went out scouting a camp spot in Bullfrog Bay and left a couple of anchors in the ground to reserve the spot for our houseboat we moved Monday morning. We had good help from the family to anchor the houseboat and the anchors held the boat taut when the wind storm blew through on Tues and Wed. Being close to the marina, we had cell service. The ice cream store was closed, maybe because of COVID-19.

One day we went to Lost Eden and got attacked by some river pirates. We explored the canyons of Moki and enjoyed a picnic lunch with the 3 boats tied together. Some things this group enjoyed were surfing, waterskiing on Monday and early morning rides, riding jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, lily pad, playing games at night, including Carol's 4-letter word game and code names, pinata and dance party to celebrate Sue and Jeff’s 40th wedding anniversary on July 7th. The evenings were pleasant temperatures. We had wind Monday and Tues. night.
